Difficulty securing a flight attendant role.

Hello to everyone in this forum. I just wanted to seek advice on behalf of someone else. My friend went to college and obtained a diploma to be a flight attendant. Its been over a year and she has not been successful in securing a job let alone an interview. She wants to work for Air Canada. She has just been working serving roles until she secures a flight attendant position. From my understanding I've heard how competitive flight attendants positions can be, especially if you only speak one language (my friend only speaks English). I was seeking some advice that I can share with her in regard to padding her resume or securing additional certification. I know most of these posts are about American airlines but any advice would be helpful.
