Likelihood of a start-up paying contractual notice pay?
Looking to hear from people who’ve been in this situation. (I’m in Scotland)
How many start-ups actually pay out, or is it more common for them to burn through the runway and then shrug their shoulders at the end and employees don’t get anything?
Been told unofficially that the runway ends January and contractually due 3 months, meaning the notice would need to be given start of November, which is only a few weeks away.
If they do pay the contractual notice I should also get the stat redundancy pay too as I’ve been employed there 3 years, which is significant enough to affect whether I quit now or wait until they announce it…
So trying to gauge (more just out of interest at this point) how likely it is they actually do the right thing and pay us, or if it’s more common to keep trying to get funding right to the end and not concern themselves too much with the notice period.
