Attention Mods and black ladies: I think we need to have a discussion regarding verification

Discussion 🎤

Hiiii all.

I really enjoy this sub. However, I think there's some issues as well. I dont want to start this with an expectation or suggestion of implicit exclusion against anyone who isn't a black lady.

But, given the extreme circumstances around the world politically, we are all struggling.

We're all trying our best in a political climate that is against and targeting black women and other minority groups on a global level. I think we deserve a place that is safe within the realistic parameters of the internet.

I've noticed that some subs have verifications options for posts that are becoming to tense and need to be limited within the community.

I know there's alot of opinions and I want us to all be able to express them. However, many threads get locked and many situations involving others making comments while they may not genuinely have the same experiences as actual black women on this sub.

I know that our sisters from the U.S, South America, UK, greater Europe and all over the various counties of the world have unique experiences and I just want to open and encourage a discussion on how we can continue to utilize this platform in a way that helps us to all feel heard, and be able to trust that we have some barriers in place to try securing a bit of safety and community peace.

Thanks 😊 ❤
