Season 5: Vecna/Mind Flayer's Goal?

Note: So I don't know if I got any details wrong (correct me), the following are my working assumptions. But my question (after you read it is): does that consciousness merely want to “take over” a world, or does it have a deeper purpose?

Eleven banishes 001 (Henry Creel/Vecna) into the formless Dimension X (which has probably existed ever since, like Dustin said.) But the gate closes immediately.

Vecna encounters (or creates) a shapeless life-form, the Mind Flayer. Vecna merges with this network -> becomes part of the Hive Mind.

On November 6th 1983 Eleven opens the gate again in the Hawkins Lab. This time, it remains open. Our reality and Dimension X begin to overlap. During this collision, Hawkins is “scanned” → a perfect copy is created: the Upside Down.
Because the gate was never properly closed, this copy remains frozen in time on November 6th.

Will’s role: The Hive Mind senses Will’s unique sensitivity, so they abduct him. He becomes the human anchor between both worlds.

Will functions as the host through which the Hive Mind can get into the real world. Therefore, the Hive Mind does not want to kill him: “He wanted to kill everyone… but not me.” (Will, S2)

Vecna/Mind Flayer/Hive Mind’s goal is not destruction but integration: To merge the real world with the Upside Down. Vecna sees this as the “natural order,” free from human weakness.

To create a collective consciousness where everything is connected, like a living organism. (Visual symbolism: spores, vines, webs, which we know hurt Will back in S2 as well, when he was physically linked to it).

Season 4: Vecna opens gates through death: each victim tears a new portal. The clock chimes four times, symbolizing four portals. At the end of The Piggyback: Vecna is "shot" but not destroyed.

Max dies briefly → the fourth gate opens. The four portals merge, tearing open the center of Hawkins. Spores drift through the air, ash falls like snow. The real world begins to merge with the Upside Down.

In Season 5, when Vecna has recovered, he will attack (probably in a different manner than in S4) the clock will chime again in Season 5 and the goal is that all barriers between worlds collapse?
Hawkins and perhaps the entire Earth faces complete fusion with the Upside Down
= Vecna happy
