Wondering what I should do?
I just received a 2018 Honda Ridgeline with roughly 45k miles from Carvana on 10/8. Upon delivery I found a large chip in the windshield on the passenger side. The delivery advocate told me they would document it and Carvana would replace the windshield, this was just recently denied by Carvana as it still “meets their standards”. The chip, which obviously happened in transit, has begun getting larger as it spiderwebs out. Strike 1. Then I brought the truck into my local Honda dealership for a PPI and Honda found nearly $4000 worth of work that needed to be done. This included front control arm replacement due to the bushings being torn and a timing belt and tensioner replacement due to the tensioner leaking fluid. Then also brake, transmission, rear differential and transfer case flushes as there is no documentation of that ever happening. Obviously I’d like the work to get done at Honda, but it is not “in-network” so I have an appointment for Monday (10/13) at the local Pep-Boys (in-network) to have the truck evaluated so SilverRock will cover it. Strike 2. I paid $1,890 in shipping for this truck (I know, dumb. Hindsight sucks) and am now seriously considering sending the truck back and just getting a refund, but I imagine they’ll gladly keep my nearly $2000 for shipping the vehicle. Just wondering what others thought if I should return the truck or exchange it? The last thing I need is an additional shipping charge if I exchange the vehicle. Also any experience with SilverRock denying claims on these mechanical issues? I wanted this experience to be stress-free so bad because dealerships are the worst (I worked in one while in college as well, the game is shady), but now I’m just still feeling taken advantage of. Thanks everyone.
