Farewell to the last WW2 Battlefield we'll ever see; it was a fun ride

Discussion

I can't explain how excited I was when I learned we'd be returning to World War II in 2018. I also can't explain how frustrated the marketing, the boycott, and all the post-launch suffering and hate left me. I discovered the franchise with Battlefield 3, but I only started playing it with Battlefield 4, excited to play a modern warfare game after being raised by WWII games in the PlayStation 2 era. The irony is that it was Battlefield that made me fall in love with the world war setting, particularly WW2, and today I prefer that setting to any modern or futuristic warfare game (although I like modern warfare too; I particularly played helicopters in Battlefield 4). I've played this game since its release, but I think it's time to move on to a new Battlefield, which looks like it'll be good this time. Anyway, I think I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the way Battlefield 5 ended, but it's still my all-time favorite. I love the WWII setting now, but I don't think we'll be back. That's it, and see you in BF6.
