Has a driver ever refused or protested a sponsorship?

I'm a newer fan so if I'm missing an obvious example please forgive me. Also this is not a political question so don't make it into one.

I thinking back to 2020 and how the Trump Campaign was sponsoring cars and I was wondering if a driver could have overruled a potential sponsorship if it didn't fit his values? Another (hypothetical) example would be maybe a religious organization or a alcohol brand if the driver has stances against then. Has this ever happened? Does a driver even have this power?
