My biggest disappointment in this era is the way my fellow atheists have conducted themselves. I always expected what I consider to be enlightenment (i.e. seeing through religion's nature) to translate differently, with a population that is more intelligent and forward looking. But things have gone much differently than I expected, with atheists acting every bit as petty as the religions have done.

Example would be my Pops. He is up there now in age and very religious, and I would never want to take that comfort (his beliefs) from him. Doesn't matter that I am certain his beliefs are wrong. He will pass in relative peace compared to how I will pass because of those beliefs. And I don't resent him or any other religious person for their beliefs. Same goes for anyone practicing any religion, so long as they are not focused on taking the religious freedoms of others. That is the key.

If we go forward with freedom of choice and speech, we will certainly find the right path at some point.
