Just got laid off!!

In January my company got taken over by a shit-for-brains startup — the kind who thinks they’re a tech company when they’re just a regular-old goods-and-services company with a brainless CEO, venture capital to burn and a dedicated insistence on never paying vendors or satisfying customers. CEO and I butted heads and I’ve been miserable for months.

Now I get some severance pay; also I live in New York, where unemployment benefits just went up by 60%, and I’m going on a two-week vacation tomorrow.
