Helicopter control settings guide
Hello guys,
I've flown helicopters for thousands of hours in previous Battlefield games, and at first, I was very disappointed with the helicopter controls in BF6—I thought they had ruined the helicopters. I tried watching some videos and tweaking the settings, but nothing helped.
Eventually, I just copied my Battlefield 2042 settings, and that did the trick.
Disclaimer: These are the settings I used in BF3, BF4, and BF2042, and they work best for me. Your experience may vary.
Let's start with Helicopter Control Assist: it should be turned off. If it's on, the helicopter becomes extremely hard to control.
Go to Mouse & Keyboard → Vehicles section → Control settings:
Set the Helicopter Control Assist to OFF:
Then go to Helicopter Pilot Keybinds:
And here are my bindings. Besides the changed movement control, I bound exiting the heli to T (E is easy to press accidentally), and Equipment Slot 1 (Flares) to X (I think this is the default in previous BFs):
