The Empire on Your Side

I was scrolling in another related sub recently, Andor was without a doubt the most prevalent topic of conversation.

It occurred to me that most of the members, to my shock, seemed to relate the Empire most directly with the modern Right.

Of course, there is authoritarianism at both sides of the political spectrum, but it’s like they never stopped to reflect on the authoritarianism of their own ‘side.’

Now these things have been discussed at length here already and I know these thoughts are shared with the vast majority of my colleagues here, but please allow me to preach to the choir for a moment.

It’s like these people never saw the authoritarianism bend in:

• the Biden administrations interference with social media to suppress dissent

• the rise of political violence on the left

• the threat to bodily autonomy via coercion of experimental vaccines

• the rioting and burning of major American cities

What do you guys think? How can we help these people to see the Empire on their own side?
