My mom is an addict and it is costing me money and my mental health.

So I(38F) and my mom(63F) live together. It's for many reasons like financial stress for both of us and a good support for my special needs kids. She pays rent and storage room fees and I pay all utilities including extras like cable for her since she is the only person in the house who cares about it. We have been doing fine like this for roughly 7 years. My mom is in disability due to a mental health break when she was roughly 40 that made her unable to work. Most of my life I have lived with her and taken care of things since she couldn't or wouldn't.

This year has been tougher financially for us. I have some chronic issues like debilitating migraines and some other stuff came up so I'm working closer to half time than full time which sucks since I am the main breadwinner in the family. For a couple months we were fine until my mom discovered an app where she was making some money to play games which seemed great at first.

Now the issue. One of the games became an addiction and I noticed she was saying she couldn't buy basic things at all anymore and I was buying all the gas for the whole family etc. I started getting therapy because I am trying to mentally get out of the cycle of dread before work makes me too exhausted or have a migraine to be able to work. (This is relevant I promise) Every time I would leave to go to therapy my mom would drop a financial problem at my feet that was her issue like her phone quit charging because she was playing the game while plugged in all the time. And so I became very stressed and talked about it with my therapist. She recommended open discussions of money and I listened to the advise.

Turns out Mom was behind on rent by more than a month, storage was late and I panicked. I took her phone and discovered between 800 and 900 worth of charges for micro transactions for this game. Who knows how long she has been doing that much. This was for the month of August and it was only Aug 21st roughly. We had a huge blow up. She borrowed from my grandmother to pay the rent and storage. I thought last month was a little better I mean she bought groceries and paid the bills she was supposed to. For October I had her show me that rent was paid and she had me use her card to pay the storage. I felt like maybe things were getting better.

Then today she had car trouble and so needed a new car battery and decided to get an oil change but she didn't have enough to cover it and the work was already done so I had to cover it even though I'm struggling to pay utilities and my own car note and insurance. I asked when she got home how much she had been spending on the game. She claimed like 40 bucks which is a lot for her income but 40 is way better than 800, right? So I asked if I could see her acct and see what she spent money on. She got very defensive. So I took her phone and looked at just Google play and the budget/payments made section and lo and behold since Oct 1st she spent over 300 on the game.

I walked away and since then she said that she removed her payment methods from Google play and tried to give me her cards but I declined. I don't want to keep her cards for her. Most banking has the option of digital cards with added encryptions to be able to add back to Google if she wants or she will just buy a Google play gift card. I don't want to have to baby sit her finances. I've told her I can't keep living like this and have explained over and over how the extra burdens of covering costs for her is breaking me mentally and financially. I don't have other living options to keep my kids getting the services they have currently. So reddit any advise? More than anything thanks for letting me vent.
