How do I get back to life after SA
Long story short I (F26) was drugged, kidnapped, and raped by a coworker (M~47) recently in late August. I went to the hospital to have a sexual assault forensic evidence kit done and reported the incident to the police.
No one can find my perp. He isn’t a registered citizen and never had a legitimate address on file at work.
My investigator hasn’t given me any updates regarding his investigation. SVU is apparently swamped with cases where I live.
I’m on a long waitlist for trauma focused therapy. I’m just waiting around and losing hope for any justice. I’m tired.
This crime has affected me in such a way that I haven’t been able to return to work. I couldn’t focus on my studies so I am on a leave of absence from school. I’m just wasting away and don’t know what to do anymore.
I had so much momentum and motivation shortly after the crime to make phone calls all day and run around gathering evidence, stay on top of all the things… and now I feel like that deflated girl in those old anti-drug commercials.
I’m going broke. I’m agitated and irritated all the time. Everything reminds me of the place in I’m and what put me here. I’m so so so tired and don’t want to be apart of a world in which this happens and I’m supposed to just live on.
I’ve struggled with chronic depression most of my life, but this has been the real kicker. I’ve been bad but not like this. I don’t know what to do to get back on my feet, I often don’t even want to because what’s the point if this is how the world is going to treat me.
My friends and family have been an amazing support system, but I feel that it’s getting old for them and they’re waiting for me to get back on track.
Any advice?
