I work for an evil corporation

I am in HR.

CEO:

• racist
• the type of person “you’re not supposed to cross or they’ll make your life hell”
• they’ve been reported to our ethics line, they’re friends with the investigators, therefore CEO is never found at fault
• can be as awful as they want to and no one takes action
• demoted a manager because they weren’t hygienic (breath smelled bad, teeth were in bad condition, dirty fingernails)

HR:

• not promoting a capable young woman to a Supervisor because they’re worried a demoted employee will retaliate
• HRVP and CEO are friends and spend time together outside of work frequently. CEO went to HRVP’s husband’s funeral
• allows CEO to act the way they act, while HR would’ve treated another leader differently. HR Manager confirmed to me that they would have treated another leader different if they did the same things
• allows leaders to break conduct, with no discipline;
  • Director placed a Supervisor in a choke hold
  • Different Director said to a driver “get out of my office or I’m going to smash your head against the wall”

Operations:

• breaks DOT Driving Hours regulations
• places chemicals by food inside the warehouse
• warehouse doesn’t wear proper PPE
• two people have died on site
  • one died in the warehouse because they were allowed to ride on a piece of equipment that they weren’t certified on, ended up crashing the equipment and were impaled through their chest
  • the other died in the yard, ran over by a semi truck. Yard wasn’t properly lit and truck had broken headlights
• called a director role a manager role because candidates applying for the director role were asking for too high of salaries, after candidate was hired their title was changed to director without higher pay

I get so scared OSHA will show up and we’ll have another death. Three people have had heart attacks from stress on site. So many people have had anxiety attacks on site. One person had to be hospitalized due to exhaustion. Another person had to be put on medication due to high blood pressure.

Those are the things that immediately come to mind. I feel so guilty coming into work, I hate it here. I’ve been trying for a year and a half to get a different job and have had no luck. Please don’t ask for the company name or location or industry.
