Help, what is a good way to manage pain? & has anyone else gotten kidney problems from prescribed meds?
So, im not sure if this is the right subreddit, but couldn't find anything else. Im a 26 y/o woman whose has health problems since march.
Months ago, I originally went to the Dr for dizziness and headaches, and was prescribed various NSAIDS that got stronger and stronger, and I eventually developed a stomach ulcer. In July at the er, they gave me famotidine for a month and then some more later.
I was prescribed stomach medications to help with that pain, the meds ranged from omeprazole to pantaprozole to sucralfate. then my new Dr said i need iron supplements, but i recently looked at my previous blood work results, and they showed the kidney related sections getting lower. And this was a month ago before I learned all these medicines effect the kidney and I had still been taking them until I only took two pills yesterday. Im supposed to take 5 in total daily. My lower back finally started hurting yesterday and I became nauseous/feeling like i want to puke, so I need tips with that since I can't take NSAIDS and I heard Tylenol is also bad for it, and idk if nausea medicine is safe. I think my fingers have also been starting to feel weird and achy if that's also a symptom?
Has anyone else gotten kidney problems from meds? Idk why no doctor throughout these months hasn't mentioned that in my labs at all when I was fine before I started taking medicine. I even asked my gastro if the medicine is OK, and she said the warning "is just to cover their ass", but i think all these medicines stacked together in a harmful way against my kidneys.
Im trying to even find a medical office to visit today since my pcp is closed, and only urgent cares seem available, but idk if they'd help. It hurts now as if im on my period, but id have to wait till monday. Ive already been to the er 2 times this year w my shotty insurance, so i cant keep getting all these massive bills (plus they always say they only can help if youre literally dying). Please someone advise, I never would have taken all these if I knew it could do this. I tried googling and it talked abt how kidneys don't repair themselves and im so scared now. Id totally take headaches and fatigue over ulcers and failing organs. Any tips at all are appreciated
