If I buy the the game on Steam do I need to redownload it or I can move the files?

Since the issue with EA App is not fixed yes i'm thinking on buying the game through Steam but I have mediocre internet speed that need 4 hours to complete, so it will still world if i move the game files to Steam from EA App?
