Linear vs Semester High School System – Which is Better for College Applications?

I’m trying to figure out whether doing high school in a linear (full-year) system or a semester system is better for college applications. In a linear system, classes run throughout the whole year and exams are usually at the end, while in a semester system, classes are split into terms and exams happen at the end of each term.

I’m curious if colleges care more about one system over the other, or if one system makes it easier to take AP, IB, or other advanced courses. I’m also wondering if there’s any advantage in terms of GPA or overall preparation for college. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!
