Suggestions for investment/savings options

Investing

I’m 37 and I’ve had an RRSP that started as an employer contributed program at a previous employer about 7 years ago and is now just a personal RRSP. I also have a TFSA. Total amount of both is just shy of $100,000. I do not max out my contributions each year.

These are managed by an investment company and even though I see a lot of recommendations to go self-directed, I want to keep it that way as the returns have been great, service is top notch, and I’m generally happy with how they have been going.

However, I’m interested in trying other investment options and doing that myself. Both as a way to diversify a bit and also learn more about investing in general. I feel as though I’ve gained some knowledge over the years but certainly am no expert.

Any suggestions? Something I can do weekly deposits with a relatively small amount to start with hopefully larger amounts in the future and just let grow over time. Thanks!
