F2 application while on F1 unpaid opt

Hi guys. My wife currently has a 10 year b1/b2 visa valid till 2027. I just started my volunteering role after 45 days of unemployment in my initial opt. Is it worth applying for her f2 while being on an unpaid role? I have the funds to cover it all. I was fully funded during grad school , so my personal+ grad aid funds show as 2x that on the i20. should I wait to get a paid job to request for an f2 i20? Or should I just get an i20 for her visa? Conflicted. Any leads to lawyers will be appreciated too.
