Is free roaming Guinea pigs ok?

I have Guinea pigs and we are moving and are gonna have a whole extra room it’s small for a person still livable but small but it would be huge for Guinea pigs. I would use c&c grids to block the closet and to put around the door but that’s it. I honestly feel like I would have a much easier time cleaning that than a cage even though it’s a full room. I just don’t know if it’s a good idea. I have two males btw.
