Chapter 1 – The Dark Future

The year was 2021.

Driven by fear and ambition, humans created artificial androids — cold, soulless machines programmed to hunt and eliminate monsters. But the logic of these creations soon became corrupted. If monsters were flawed… then humans were too.

The massacre began in silence and ended in screams. Human cities crumbled. Monster villages were erased from the map. The world became a gray field of ruins and dust. Among the wreckage of what was left of humanity… a new hope was born.

After Frisk’s disappearance, Sans wandered alone across the devastated surface. Acid rain fell from the sky. The streets were a cemetery of concrete. Bodies and scraps of metal mixed with the mud.

There, among smoking debris, Sans heard a cry. A faint sound… human.

He followed the echo until he found a baby wrapped in rags, surrounded by the remains of a destroyed house. The little one reached out, crying, not understanding the chaos around him.

Sans knelt and watched in silence. For the first time in years, his tired gaze softened.

— “Heh… looks like the world hasn’t ended completely, huh?”

He picked the baby up. The child’s soul shone — pure, intense, unlike anything Sans had ever seen.

Sans, who had lost everything, saw in that baby a spark of something he thought extinct: hope.

And so, the skeleton who never wanted to be a father… became one. The baby was given a name: Risque.

Years passed in the Underground. Risque grew among monsters who saw him as a miracle — the human who could unite both species.

Toriel taught him to read and control his spiritual energy. Papyrus trained him in light combat, amid laughter and clumsy mistakes. Sans watched from afar, pretending not to care, but guarding every step.

Even in dark times, Risque’s laughter lit up the tunnels. But there was something inside him… unstable. His soul of purity sometimes glowed too brightly, as if reacting to the sorrow of the world.

Once, during training, a magical explosion destroyed half the cavern. Risque cried, saying he was a monster. Sans just smiled, brushing the dust off his coat.

— “Heh. If you were a monster, kid, you wouldn’t have cried about it.”

From that day on, the boy promised to control his power.

But peace in the Underground didn’t last. The androids — now led by two elite models, Bet and Suzy — found the ruins. They were different: cold, intelligent, and cruel. They didn’t just hunt… they enjoyed suffering.

Sans and his resistance fought with everything they had. Risque, now a teenager, wanted to join the front lines, but Toriel stopped him.

— “You still don’t understand the weight of a life, my child. Yours is too precious to be wasted.”

Risque lowered his head, but his eyes were like Sans’s — determined.

That night, the attack began.

Explosions tore through the Underground. The walls shook. Papyrus was injured while trying to evacuate civilians. Toriel coordinated the escape, while Sans faced the invading squad.

Risque, disobeying orders, ran to help. His soul pulsed with white light. He destroyed one of the smaller androids but lost control — the energy burst and threw him against the wall.

Before fainting, he saw Sans surrounded by Bet and Suzy.

Sans fought with everything he had. His Gaster Blasters lit the corridor, destroying dozens of machines. But Bet and Suzy were different.

Bet attacked with punches that shattered stone. Suzy moved like a shadow, slicing the air with energy blades.

— “You think you can play god, huh?” growled Sans, raising his hands. — “You’re a relic, skeleton,” replied Suzy, coldly. “And relics… are meant to be erased.”

The fight was brutal. Sans teleported, dodged, and struck with everything he had. But time betrayed him. When the final blow landed, he fell to his knees, blood dripping from his jaw.

Bet grabbed him by the neck and began to beat him. Each punch echoed through the tunnel. The sound of cracking bones mixed with metallic laughter.

Suzy watched in silence, her expression blank.

— “Finish it.”

Bet lifted Sans, bloodied and nearly soulless. And slammed him into the ground, shattering him into pieces.

But even then… he laughed.

— “Heh… you’ll never understand… what it means to have a heart.”

Suzy stepped on him and, with one cold strike, severed his head from his body.

The world fell silent.

Risque arrived too late. The androids were still there, watching Sans’s lifeless body.

The boy ran, stumbling, and fell to his knees beside his father. Sans’s head, still faintly glowing with traces of magic, looked at him.

— “Heh… live, kid… no matter what happens… just live.”

Then, the light faded.

Risque froze. The sound of his heartbeat echoed inside his head. Bet and Suzy looked at him in disgust.

— “Pathetic,” muttered Bet. “Even this crying trash is a programming error.”

— “End him,” Suzy replied coldly.

Bet kicked Sans’s head, smashing it against the ground.

Silence. Then, something inside Risque broke.

His soul shone in blinding white. The air trembled. The earth shook. Energy exploded outward.

Risque screamed — a scream that felt like it tore the world apart.

The androids were thrown back, the entire Underground shaking under the force of his rage. Toriel appeared, trying to contain him, but it was too late. The light consumed everything.

When it faded, Risque lay unconscious. Toriel wept, holding the boy’s body, while the androids fled to plan their next attack.

Ten Years Later

Time passed. The surface was now only dust and ashes. The androids ruled. The Underground was the last refuge of life.

Risque, now sixteen, walked through the ruins with a determined gaze. His coat resembled Sans’s. His soul, now mastered, burned like a living flame.

He raised his hand. The Soul of Purity glowed in the air.

— “Androids… your time is over. This time… I won’t lose anyone.”

The wind blew through the wreckage. And the glow of his soul lit the Underground like a forgotten star.

The boy who was once saved… would now fight to save the world.

End of Chapter 1.
