Exchange 2016 to 365 migration

Looking for some guidance on doing an exchange 2016 to 365 migration. Have done migrations before but never one of this nature.

Details: -Server with AD and on prem 2016 exchange environment. -50 users with a few 5 users having mailboxes over 50gb.

Need to migrate them to 365 and would prefer to do it as smoothly as possible. From reading forums, a hybrid migration is recommended.

For those that have done this before, can you walk through the process and recommend "best practices" and things to avoid?
