I think people lose interest in me because of how I look, not because of who I am

All relationships are give and take. Unhealthy relationships can be unbalanced. I'm neurodivergent and I take most things literally.

I’ve had the same hairline and forehead since birth... not receding or anything, just naturally weird-shaped. Combine that with thin hair, and it’s honestly a pretty bad combo. I’ve always been a little self-conscious about it, even though I try not to be.

People love saying “looks don’t matter,” but I’ve realized they actually do....maybe not completely, but definitely enough to change how someone treats you.

I’ve had a few situationships where I really cared... I was there for them, stayed up late talking, tried to make them feel better when they were down. I put in genuine effort. But every time, things slowly faded. They’d get distant, talk less, and eventually move on.

It hurts because I don’t think it’s about my personality or how I treated them. It feels like it’s just how I look. I’m not ugly, but my features definitely don’t help. And it’s frustrating that something I was born with can affect how people feel about me.

I get that attraction is real. It should matter to some extent.... but it shouldn’t matter this much. Not to the point where someone overlooks how deeply you care, just because your face doesn’t fit their “type.”

I don’t hate myself, but it’s hard not to feel like love is something people see in others....and never quite in me.
