Kevin’s speaking style

Is there some connection to a bit that is related to Kevin‘s tendency to use baby talk style of speech? The close, but not quite right pronunciation of words, the dropping of word endings, and the dropping of prepositions, etc. I’ve heard him speak on mic without doing it, so it seems that it’s performative. What’s going on here?
