Growth ultrasound
Hi guys! For context- I’m due on Halloween with my third child but first little girl. It’s been a crazy pregnancy with two preterm labor scares but as of today we’re 37 weeks and no labor symptoms in sight.
I had a growth ultrasound done at 32 weeks because my belly only measured 27 weeks in the office. That ultrasound said the baby was measuring in the 89th percentile and of normal size. Two weeks later, I had a doctor repeat the ultrasound while admitted for preterm labor and not tell me I was having it done or why. However, that ultrasound showed my baby was large for gestational age (LGA) greater than the 97th percentile weighing 3209 grams which equates to 7lbs 1oz.
I feel my providers are now scaring me into an induction at 39 weeks or a c section due to the baby’s size. What seems odd is that she does not feel large at all to me, compared to my other two children, and my belly has always measured 3+ weeks behind.
I’m really just looking for personal stories as to how wrong your growth ultrasound was if you had that done. Looking for some inspiration to do this as I don’t want an induction and would like an unmedicated birth!
As a side note- my husband is 6’5” and I’m 5’8” so we’re not small people and I feel we should have bigger babies. I was also 9lbs 9oz at birth so very large. Our other two children, born preterm at 36 weeks each, were 6.11 and 6.12 lbs. This baby feels very similar to that.
Thanks!
