Thanksgiving

So my family invited me to thanksgiving this year. We are a big family of 14 people depending on who shows up for dinner. We celebrate every year with turkey ham the works. This year the host! My step mother has requested that everyone send her $15 for the meal.

This struck me as odd and needed others opinions . I’ve asked a few now I’m asking the internet. Is this the new normal with the cost of everything? Is it time to do my own thing for thanksgiving ? ( I’m 29 ) .
