A8 9600 problems with drivers on linux: Black screen or unsupported APU
I just built a pc with old parts to use as a sv and for side projects. Mi problem is, I can't seem to make Linux drivers for the integrated graphics work as intended
As the title says, my APU is an AMD A8 9600 (I don't have a GPU to use, just in case). The main problem that I have, is that when the pc boots, it shows the distro logo and then a black screen, and nothing more. It happens with every distro that I tried (Linux Mint, Xubuntu, CachyOS)
The only solution that I found (thanks to ChatGPT) was to add amdgpu.dc=0 or nomodeset to the launch configs in grub, but that way I get little to no GPU compatibility. With amdgpu.dc=0 it seems to detect the amdgpu drivers if I put:
lspci -k | grep -A 3 VGA
On the console, but I can't use anything that needs the GPU drivers to work. For example, I want to share my desktop with parsec or any other software, and it always fails
I'm now going to try with Fedora Workstation, because I read that it has better compatibility with old AMD APUs, but I don't know what else to do. I don't even need that much specs for anything, but I have to be able to share screens
