"No one ever wanted to grow up being that"
So, weird way to kick this one off but in r/scams there are a few posts about "cam girls" or "OF" and the like of scams which I hadn't really thought about before. It made me think the entire time growing up, "No one ever wants to grow up doing that" was always said but with social media, there are people who want to do that and I'll throw in the vloggers in their 20's to early 30's who sell everything they own, get a couple of years working in a shop and take off for years just traveling around doing stuff Gen X saves "for retirement" and only working occasionally when they don't make enough from their socials.
Like, what are we doing wrong? Are we doing it wrong? How does being paid big sums of money in your 20's to 40's play out when you aren't relevant anymore? Will they still be relevant because they will be the next big aging group and weirdly sound like GenX?
I dunno, it's just thoughts about what my Grandkids react to and stuff they just look at you like you're an alien that just landed on earth after taking a wrong turn at the last galaxy. Does anyone else ever notice this or is it just me, and, what do you think will happen in that generation and the word "retirement" collide? Let me know, I'm now really curious about how this is playing out.
PS: just about every flair would have fit this and choosing one was tough
