When I first acquired beast crest I immediately fell in love with its entire moveset and gameplay so I decided to play the rest of the game with only this crest. The community generally thought that it was a hard crest to use which also seemed very appealing to me as I enjoy somewhat difficult challenges. At first everything was perfect and it was so fun learning all the tricks and tech I could do with the crest but once I optimized my gameplay enough I learned I could brute force a lot of content which made its luster start to fade. I found flinslate, got flea brew, and learned how to effectively cycle my binds and because of the large amount of effort I put into learning all these, some fights I can bulldoze through without having to learn shit about a boss.

I've heard a lot of people really liked the Second Sentinel fight so I was really looking forward to it but I found myself unsatisfied after killing him very quickly and on my first try. I didn't have flea brew quipped because I assumed I would die at least once and then I could equip it at a bench but now that I've killed them so easily/mindlessly I'll have to resort to other methods to come back here and truly enjoy the fight.

Of course I know this isn't always the case with beast crest and I did specifically work towards achieving this brute force type of gameplay but going forward I think I'll refrain from doing this again and look for ways to up the difficulty if necessary.

I've learned Beast Crest... but now I'm having second thoughts
