Firestick to play HDR10+ movies on LG G5?

My parents bought a LG G5 tv, but a lot of the 4k movies I've downloaded do not work with the TV. I think most of them are HDR10+.

If I get a firestick with OTG cable and USB hard drive connected to it, would that work to play the movies? I've also read about LG not supporting certain audio codecs too, so would it also be a workaround for that?
