Experience with a Diocesan church compared to SSPX

Last Sunday, I brought my family to a Catholic Church in Canada since we're currently in town for the next 2 weeks. My son had an asthma attack because of the moldy smell. What makes me grind my teeth more is the fact that they have a professionally produced advert across social media for like an archbishop appeal asking for donations. The diocese has budget to produce a professional video to advertise they need funds, and yet they cannot professionally maintain churches well? Why do I feel this archdiocese is a scam?

When SSPX asked for donations, they just ask simply. No gimmicks, just a small white envelope. Now, I am beginning to realize that the SSPX are the real deal i the Catholic Church.
