AITAH for not spending time with my MIL and my baby even though I live in her house?
I (f33) moved in MIL house with boyfriend and my parents (we are just passing through until we buy a house in a few months). My BF works alot and isnt home too much and when he is, he doesnt spend time with his mom and our baby. On a daily basis I spend time with my mom. Its usually in her room or outside in our little garden area. Me and MIL have been friendly before but had a rough patch because of a situation a couple years ago and now its more like cordial relationship. I had a baby and thought i can try and be nice but despite what my bf said, she still seems like the same miserable rude lady she was before. In the 1 month we have been here she has made a rude comment about how i feed my baby and rude to others a couple times (having an attitude when our guest asked to fill his water bottle up and gave my dad a horrible tone when he was just making a light hearted remark). I also feel like anything i might slightly move shes behind me moving it back, Like micromanaging me (i clean whole floor and might move random stuff she has on floor so i can vacuum or mop goood. When i am doing stuff around i would try and be nice and ask what shes cooking. She has a recliner that sits almost right in front of my bedroom door. Once she comes home from work she sits there from like 2pm-9pm, even 10pm. I will say hi once but not talk to her if i go to use bathroom or take dog out or go make foos. I dont feel the need to be constantly talking to her just because she sits there all day. I dont go and sit with her so she spends time with baby because shes rude and doesnt really talk to me when paying attention to baby. She doesnt seem friendly so i dont want to waste my time trying to be nice when technically i am just renting a room in her house. If it was someone else not "family" i would act the same, not feeling the need to spend time with them.
Tldr: MIL is rude and weird but i live in her house and i dont make an effort to sit with her so she can see and play with my baby.
