Mismatch between me and my Friend

I just needed to get this off my chest. I honestly can’t stand him anymore. Maybe I’m being too sensitive, but I think our differences are starting to show. I’m a 21-year-old woman, and he’s 19, and sometimes the mismatch between us really frustrates me. When I try to talk about things normally, he assumes I’m complaining and gets defensive. I’m only trying to help, but he ends up disrespecting me and making me feel worse about myself. It’s been taking a toll on my mental health, to the point where I sometimes just cry out of anger and exhaustion.
