45, want a baby, and my spouse lives in another country - what to do?

Advice Needed!

I recently got married in January 2025. Neither my husband nor I have children. He lives in Jamaica, while I’m based in New York. I travel a few times a year so we can try to conceive naturally, but after two years without success, I decided to move forward with IVF. About six weeks ago, I underwent treatment in Barbados and, unfortunately, both embryos came back aneuploid after PGTA testing. I had naively believed IVF would guarantee success, so this outcome has been heartbreaking.

My husband has been incredibly supportive, and I’m determined to find a path that leads us to a live birth. I’ve now signed up with a fertility clinic in New York, but they require his sperm sample. Unfortunately, he wasn’t granted a visa, and his green card application is projected to take more than 14 months for a decision.

I’m currently exploring options for shipping his frozen sperm to the U.S. which is complex — any advice or recommendations would be deeply appreciated.
