Hi everyone,

My husband and I are currently renting a lot but own our trailer, and we still have 9 months left on our lease. Over the past few months, our living environment has become increasingly hostile and unsafe. Here are some of the issues we’re facing - One neighbor has made multiple threats toward residents in the park, including saying he plans to “get everyone something” when he moves out. He’s also put up antagonistic signs saying things like “narcissists and flying monkeys stay away.” Another neighbor has been openly discriminatory and has threatened to call the police on our legitimate service dog (not an ESA) we’ve tried to provide ADA information by providing the site to do research and quoting directly from the ADA site. A third neighbor directly threatened my husband, saying he would “stab him in the neck.” On top of this, our property management has been almost impossible to reach (they rarely respond to emails or calls). Earlier this year, they caused a 6-week unlivable situation by refusing to allow us to connect to the sewage system. We’ve reached a point where we no longer feel safe even going outside. We would really like to move, but we still have 9 months left on our lease.

TL;DR: Neighbors have made violent and discriminatory threats (including one saying he’d stab my husband), and management has been unresponsive and previously caused unlivable conditions. We feel unsafe and want to know if we can legally break our lease with 9 months left, or what our options are.
