Monistat 7 - feel worse on day 2?

I'm currently deal with my second ever yeast infection, both have been very mild with minimal vaginal symptoms and more lower abdominal discomfort/bloating/gas. The first time it cleared with a round of flucanozole from a doctor, this time I opted for the Monistat 7 cream that gets inserted.

I took the first dose on Wednesday night, and Thursday all my symptoms were cleared up. No discomfort, no bloating, I felt back to 100% immediately. That was yesterday. Last night I took the second dose, and within minutes I started to feel bloated and crampy. I thought maybe it was a fluke and would go away when I woke up, but it didn't. The cramping is very mild and it's in my lower back, which is where I usually have menstrual cramps due to retroverted uterus. I also still have thick discharge, but I can't tell if it's me or some of the cream leftover.

I've called my doctor to ask if this is normal/if I should take the third dose tonight or not, but she hasn't gotten back and since it's 3:30 on a Friday I doubt I'll hear from her before Monday. So I'm asking here: has anyone had similar experiences with Monistat? I'm not really sure how to proceed here!
