Is this normal!?

So i was talking to someone the other day and periods came up, when talking about mine they went from shock to concern really fast, and said I should go to an OBGYN. I thought this was normal so im confused. Anyways, my period comes about every other month, around 48-50 days apart. I get awful cramps that go to back and down my hips. I also experience severe nausea around this time. My period is really short and light. Its normally about two days, on the first day I wear a light tampon and then by the next day I typically just need a liner. I know its weird but I don't think its problematic, its not like im bedbound from pms symptoms or anything.
