Apologies, I know I've been posting a bunch but introduction might genuinely be the most stressful thing I've ever done in my life!

So recap: Jerry and Remi are my 10 week old boys. At the start of this week I started introducing 1 year old Oogie Boogie (OB). All went swiftly and well but I moved too fast and moved back a bit. Night 1 was spent in a medium carrier, but in the morning Jerry had escaped the carrier and both Jerry and Remi had a (bite)wound. Both before and after that night they hadn't shown aggression in the medium carrier. Came out of left field and kind of shook me.

People were quick to advice neutering Oogie, but I'm hesitant as I haven't actually seen the circumstances of the injury.

I've been on edge and keeping a close eye on them since. I seperated them for a bit but the babies decided to jump off of my shoulder into Oogies spot and all 3 decided to lay together so I let them be. They spend all day yesterday in that carrier sharing food and a hammock without any issue. Overnight I kept them in the smallest carrier (since Jerry can't escape it) in my bedroom right next to my bed. Once again no incident and no injury next morning. This morning at 6 am I placed them in the (thouroughly cleaned!) Bare cage. Over the day I've offered a hammock, a rope toy and a diy foraging toy with treats which they all shared with no issues. They've been snoozing together all day. Now evening falls, it's about 20:00 and all 3 wake up.

To my absolute fucking surprise Remi (who's like 1/4th the size of Oogie!) Humps Oogie! He did it like 3 or more times in the span of 30 minutes. Oogie responded clearly pissed off, possibly puffed? (It's hard to see when he is puffed because his hair sometimes looks kind of puffed even when he is clearly relaxed, like sleeping or alone and laying down?), and sidling towards Remi. He however never goes past sidling, if he pushes Remi to the side of the cage and then just kind of leaves him.

After Remi and Jerry layed down together, Oogie then approached Remi (you can imagine me taking on a fighting stance praying to God), and he put his paws on his shoulder area, deeply sniffed (maybe a very short groom?) The area and then plopped his head down on Remi's shoulders! Baffling. After a minute or 2 Remi pulls out and sits up to clean himself and Oogie just slides his head under Remi's paws.

The babies are too little for proper aggression probably and Oogie is the new factor, but juging from the behaviour my babies are just massive assholes and Oogie is a sweetheart. I feel like I'm going crazy watching their behaviours and trying to judge and understand what's going on! Terrified to leave them alone tonight, but rationally I have no reason to seperate them atm and in the long run they can't develop a stable hierarchy and dynamic if they get seperated a lot and can't scuffle. But watching rats fight is surprisingly scary! I am mostly frustrated with Remi, like damn dude if there's a giant in your living space and he turns out to be a nice guy who just wants to hang out, take the hint instead of mounting him!

Rat tax of them hanging out today

Introductions are terrifying! Vent
