AITJ for not punishing my son because he doesn’t want to be around his sister who constantly snitches on him?

I (38M) have two kids: Mark (13M) and Lily (11F). Lily is spoiled and has habitually tattled on Mark, from small things to privacy matters. Recently, she discovered Mark’s crush and made it public, humiliating him in school.

Mark, fed up, began distancing himself from Lily. My wife insists I punish him for ignoring his sister, that he’s being “mean” to her. But Mark feels invaded and disrespected.

I support Mark’s need for space. I believe his feelings are valid, not everything has to be smoothed over via punishment. Now my wife is upset and says I’m enabling bad behavior.

AITJ?
