Do gay people have a giver/receiver preference or is gay just gay?

I'm a straight guy, and always wondered if a gay person would identify as giver (similar to hetero-man) or receiver (similar to hetero-woman) or is being "gay" mean that you are equally attracted to both roles.

From the straight perspective, being a gay giver (like a straight guy that is just attracted to men) would be completely different than a gay reciever (which would be more like wanting to, sexually, be a woman).

Like, are there gay people that are just givers or just recievers? Or do most gay people do (or enjoy) both?
