What's Life Like in Quality? [PW]

Pratt & Whitney

I saw a posting for Quality Engineer and wanted to know what the general feel is on the inside. I'm currently in structures, and I feel like I've heard mixed reviews of QE outside PW, but I'm wondering if it's different here. I like the AWW schedule, but I probably won't apply if everyone hates their life over there.

  • Do you like QE? Do most people like it, or is it a stopover on the way to more appealing destinations?
  • What's the day-to-day like? Is there much analysis, or is it mostly people-wrangling and paperwork?
  • Is the CORE/Lean/Agile stuff actually an important part of the workflow, or just a box-check for appearances like it seems to be in structures?

Any experiences or thoughts on AWW are welcome, too; I've always thought it sounded like a good setup, but obviously has drawbacks.
