Salary Step Placement for Veteran Teacher

Hello!

I am a 12th year teacher who is going to move to the Twin Cities next June. Are there any teachers here who can speak to how they got placed on the salary scale when when they took a job in the Twin Cities? I know that most districts will probably not honor all of my service, but it would be nice to know what range my salary would be in so my spouse and I can start looking for a house.
