MSI Mag 321UP. Grabbed it off of Amazon on their early Prime Day sale for $599.99. Used a $175 gift card to bring the total down to $478.24 after tax. With the cashback, should be another $30 back to bring everything down to $448.24.

Previous to this, I had owned nothing but a series of all-in-one Mac units (the latest being an iMac retina 5K 27' 2020). I wanted something close to that in clarity for productivity and equal in color for editing and streaming but with a refresh rate geared toward gaming.

Initially, I looked for 1440P 27' units (thanks everyone who gave me advice), but the more I did the more the features I wanted (good HDR, high refresh rate, etc.) kept pushing my budget higher. So, I decided to look for the low end of 4K and zeroed in on this on sale and I couldn’t ignore it at that price (and monitor size).

I only post the last section because it took a while for me to figure out what I actually wanted, and once I had it became much easier (with timing and a little luck) to find it. But if you can at least nail down the first two, the last becomes easier. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Edit: this is going to be paired with a Ryzen 5 9600X and 5070 Ti combo (my first ever PC as well, from CPG). Yes, I know there are better gaming CPUs but I put the resources instead to upping my ram to 64GB and a few other things. The 9600 is so cheap I better if it becomes the bottleneck. I'm fairly confident that my setup should be able to handle 4K decently. Fairly. Hope I made the right decision there but we'll see. Now just waiting for everything to arrive.

Anyway, yeah. Thoughts? Good trade offs? Anyone with a 5070 Ti with this monitor and how has it run? Would appreciate any feedback!

Pulled the trigger on first ever monitor. Did I do well?
