Is it okay that I booked my residence permit appointment this early? (Student, Non-EU)

Hey everyone,

I’m a non-EU student who recently arrived in Germany. I landed on 7th October 2025 and completed my Anmeldung on 8th October 2025. I’ve also managed to book my residence permit appointment for 16th October 2025.

My student visa (D visa) is valid for one year, expiring at the end of September 2026.

I’ve heard that you’re usually supposed to apply for the residence permit a few weeks before your visa expires, so now I’m wondering if I booked mine too early. I just wanted to check if it’s fine that I already scheduled it this soon after arrival or if I should have waited longer.

Would really appreciate any advice or if anyone could share how they timed their appointment after arriving in Germany!
