What do casual players hope to achieve in multiplayer?

I'm curious what most people play the game for, do you play to become elite level or just casually for fun in the hope to improve each game you play.

I'm the latter, I try to improve but I'm really bad at the game tbh. I average 1 kill per match if I'm lucky that's how bad I am. I'm always near bottom of the leaderboad.

In the beta I kinda improved somewhat with progression but not by much. Once you unlock better sights for aiming the ratio of kills tends to follow suit, at least from my experience. I played BF1 the most, but even then I was averaging bottom half of the leaderboad. I was enjoying the game nevertheless which is the best we can hope for as casual players.
