Completely new to skating, and need some help

Question

Hi! So, at the grand age of 33 I've finally decided to fulfill my teenage dream of learning how to skateboard. I went online and found a 8.25" board, which seems to be what most people recommend for adults. I got the board yesterday, and have tried skating for the first time today. It went really well, and I'm already super excited to go again. However, I have a few questions.

  1. I got a board from the brand "Ocean Pacific" as it was marketed as a decent beginner board and on sale. Is this a decent enough brand?

  2. The board was a pre built board. How do I know if I need to tighten or loosen anything?

  3. I live in a place with a lot of rain. Can I skate the asphalt if it's wet? I'm talking no puddles, but darkened by the rain (obviously not skating while it's raining), or will this ruin my board?

Thanks a bunch for any answers, and any other tips are very welcomed!
