Are these trims metal?

Hello, I noticed somehow I have a small chip on a trim piece above the rear drivers window. Are these trim pieces metal? They have a metallic colour but I figured they be plastic. I want to know so I know if I should quickly put some paint on it to prevent rust.

Or also, would it be an easy piece to replace
