2018 Rebel 500 not priming

I’ve had my rebel for a few months now and only yesterday on the way to work this happened. I’ll turn the key to the on position, then when I turn the kill switch to the on position it doesn’t prime and will take about 5-10 minutes to do so then I can start it, any help is very appreciated.
