doctors lying about medication (ryeqo)
I have endometriosis and Von Willebrand’s disease.
I struggle with extremely heavy and painful periods and I am bleeding the majority of the time. I’ve tried all the pills and the injection with provera tablets and nothing has worked so I had to pay privately and I was suggested ryeqo . I was really worried it would make things worse before it got better as I honestly thought any worse would actually kill me. The doctor reassured me it wouldn’t make anything worse and bleeding normally settles in a month.
So reluctantly I started it, and 2 months later everything has gotten worse and I’m bleeding at-least 3 days of every week, I’m bed bound on these days and too anxious to leave the house, I’m only 19 🥲
So I email the private doctor and the nurse replies saying ryeqo normally exacerbates symptoms for the first 2/3 months and I’m just so angry because I would never have started them if they told me this, I feel lied to. I can’t pay for more treatment privately , my NHS endo team referral is gonna take 2 years and I’m inbetween paediatric and adult haemotology and gynaecology. My GP said she can’t do anything because going private has “ muddied the waters” so I just asked her for stronger painkillers. She continued to prescribe me weaker cocodomol than I’m already using, and then suggested NSAIDs even though I can’t take these because of VWD’s.
I’m so lost , any advice appreciated 🥹🥲
