Looking for a sad, gut-wrenching horror book with a hopeful ending 🌷

I love sad, dramatic, heart-breaking books that resolve in a way that make you feel comforted without being a classic happy ending. Everything is bad, but the characters still have that spark of hope and wanting to live on. I'm not much into romances, I prefer weird/upsetting/horror themes 🙏🌷 any recs that fit that vibe?????
